The 4 Most Common Summer Items to Recycle
Warmer weather is officially here and hopefully you’re ready for the pool, cook-outs and fireworks! Summer is also a great time to take a look around the home and see what potential scrap metal you may be ready to dispose of. Everything has a life span, including the following items that just might help pay for that summer vacation:
- Lawn Mowers – Not sure if that old lawn mower will last one more summer? Drain the fuel oil from the engine and recycle it to put some money in your pocket for a new one.
- Patio Furniture – Eventually that out-of-date lawn furniture becomes an eyesore instead of a desirable place to spend your time outside. Most outdoor furniture is made of aluminum, stainless steel or wrought iron – all of which qualify as recyclable material.
- Grills – Freshen up your deck or patio with a new, more efficient grill and sell your old, broken one for scrap. Most grills are made of aluminum and stainless steel, which are perfect candidates for recycling this summer.
- Pools – If you have an above ground pool that no one is using any longer, then it’s time to sell the material and earn some summer spending cash. Most of these pools are made from either aluminum or steel and can be easily broken down and recycled.
